Love this flatware, simple, elegant pattern; nice weight & balance, but on the back of every piece is a "MIKASA Made in Korea" stamp that's way too large to miss. This logo unfortunately detracts from an otherwise versatile design, rendering it inappropriate for anything beyond "everyday-friends & family" use.

Mikasa, if you're listening: hiding the tacky logo would be a great way to improve this product's appeal.

This set of Mikasa flatware is really terrific for a number of reasons:

1) It looks great. The pictures shown here on Amazon don't do justice. The flatware has a great luster and is simple, but elegant looking.

2) The pieces feel solid. Each of the flatware pieces (especially the knife) has a solid, durable feel to it. Part of this is because the pieces are a bit oversized.

3) The price! At a set, this is really a steal.

OK. Those are the good points... but there are a couple of tradeoffs. Here are a few negative points (although they are relatively minor):

1) The pieces are 18/8 steel. This is lower quality steel than 18/10. Although the pieces are made in Korea (which has better steel production than China), the steel itself is not "premium" quality.

2) All the pieces have "Mikasa" (as well as "Made in Korea" and "18/8") PRINTED on the metal, rather than stamped. Because it's printed (on the underside of the pieces except for the knife), it detracts from the flatware's otherwise elegant look. I haven't owned my set long enough, but I'm guessing that the print will eventually wear off (hopefully).

3) The spoon is really big. Although all the pieces are a bit oversized, you will notice right away how big the spoon is.

All in all, this is a terrific flatware set for . Although there are some minor issues, those issues are really minor (no more than 1 star's worth). If you're looking for a casual flatware set, I strongly recommend considering this one. You won't be disappointed.

After returning a cheaper doll that wet immediately, I bought Emma for my 2 year old whom I was trying to potty train. As it turned out, she wasn't motivated by 'rewards' or stickers or dolls, and I had to wait until she valued training intrinsically. However, the doll is nice, with moveable limbs. She works well in the bathtub. She is hard to feed, the bottle is a little difficult to place properly in her mouth and then some of the water leaks out of her mouth. My daughter loves playing with the doll, so it has been worth it. But, the doll is small, the potty is small and both can be hard for young hands to handle. I would recommend making the doll a bit larger with a larger potty. Also, my daughter associates bottles with 'babies' and I think that a potty training doll should have a 'sippy' cup instead. It was hard convincing her that a baby with a bottle should be peeing in the potty. In general, the doll is nice as a quality toy my daughter enjoys dressing her and pushing her in the stoller. Rather expensive for just another doll to play with.

I wanted this doll for my 2 year old daughter, to help her potty train. I purchased it because I had heard that it is better than some dolls, in that it has a 'bladder', so that when the doll 'drinks', the water doesn't just run through the doll. Well...it's hard to get the doll to 'drink' in the first place--you have to really squeeze the bottle after wedging it into her mouth. And some of the water DOES leak out immediately...it sort of runs down her legs! And then you have to squeeze the doll's stomach hard to get it to 'pee' out the rest. One good thing, compared to some potty dolls, is that the doll will 'pee' on any potty, not just the one they came with (so you can put the doll on the real potty). And the doll is washable and you can purchase more clothing for the doll (they say you can even take the doll in the bath, but we haven't done that yet).

For all the small things about the doll that are annoying, I couldn't find a better potty training doll to purchase, so overall, it's a good purchase. It's a really well made doll--just needs a little tweaking for potty training, in my opinion.
